“No Longer/Not Yet, it means now.”
In my eyes, there is no person who better embodies fashion than Alessandro Michele. Michele took over as creative director for Gucci in January 2015, and has since then become a fashion revolutionary. He has put the fun back in fashion with his use of color, gender fluid clothing, and intricate embroidery that makes each piece feel one of a kind. Not only has Michele brought on a whole new generation of Gucci guys and girls, he has also somehow managed to keep his previous client base, which is not a simple task. Michele has brought back the fundamentals of Gucci: the GG print and the horse bit. Michele has made high fashion inclusive and has put life back into the company. Everything Michele does instantly becomes a trend: slides, the Marmot bag, embroidery, you name it. To me, Alessandro Michele is fashion, and will continue to redefine beauty for the future generation.
